Rock 'n' roll

The East Coast Swing, also known as Rock'n'roll dance or Rock, is probably one of the most popular swing dances worldwide. This dance has been influenced by Lindy Hop, Boogie Woogie, Be-Bop and other dances. A Rock 'n' roll dancer can dance with Boogie dancers or Lindy Hoppers. The student will learn the six-beat base step, how to turn, how to have great style and perform sophisticated moves. Rock 'n' roll is definitely The Dance to know.

The dance couple perform Rock 'n' roll at level Beginner/ Intermediate.

The Boogie Woogie is a swing dance which is very popular in Europe. It can be danced to Rock 'n' roll or Swing music - fast or slow, and requires a good sense of improvisation. It's a dance that has been influenced by the Lindy Hop, Break Dance and Rock Sauté (a choreographic dance with lots of footwork). The student will learn the "social Boogie Woogie": the Boogie danced during dance parties with any partner.

The Jazz Roots, also called Traditional Jazz, Vernacular Jazz, or Authentic Jazz, originated in African-American communities in the 20's-30's. It is a solo or group dance with movements that come from African Dance and Tap dance.
